Nea Moudania
Distance from Thessaloniki 64 km.

A new, beautiful, vibrant small town built on the coast, with a developed agricultural sector and agricultural machinery industry. It is a remarkable fishery centre and tourist resort. The village was created by refugees from Moudania of Propontis after 1922. Traces of an ancient settlement, probably from the Hellenistic Time, were detected in the area.

Many holiday houses were built along the coast of Moudania during the last years. It is already the biggest town of Halkidiki with hotels, camping sites, restaurants, and entertainment facilities etc.

Events:
"Sardine festival" in the mid July, with folklore events and a fishing contest.
Traditional festival on September 8 (the birthday of Virgin Mary). The Greek refugees from Kalolimnos in Propontis carried the icon of the Virgin Mary here.
